Harris House is entering its fourth year of serving seniors and the medically frail.  We are proud of our accomplishments at Harris House however, we are more proud that we are participants in a much-needed community based program for the care of the elders.   At Harris House we pride ourselves that we are offering "more choices for seniors" and the medically frail. 

Social interaction, mental stimulation, health monitoring, assistance with eating, walking, toileting and medication are just a few of the benefits of Harris House.   Music, art, horticulture and reminiscence therapy for alzheimers care are also a part of our choices/daily program. Our day health program provides a specially designed exercise program that allows each client to participate on their individual level at their individual  pace thereby increasing strength, flexibility, stamina and balance that ultimately optimizes the daycare experience. 

Harris House is fully staffed with a registered nurse, a licensed practical nurse, certified nursing assistants, an activity consultant and caring dedicated volunteers.  Our health care services include daily health monitoring, assisting to administer medications and individual personal care; all to insure optimal health status.  

While our mission is to create more choices for seniors, our goal is to aid in maintaining their independence for longer periods of time!

Harris House Adult Daycare for Seniors was recognized in the July 17, 2007 issue of FOLIO magazine as one of the 12 finest in Jacksonville, Florida.  We are a member of FADCA (Florida, Adult Daycare Association), Alzheimers Association and The Alzheimers Foundation of America.
